FAQ

Questions travelers ask

Is TripPack free?

Yes. The packing list generator is free, with no account and no sign-up. TripPack plans to sell optional travel kits later; the list itself stays free.

How does TripPack know the weather?

For trips that start within the next 16 days, TripPack uses the Open-Meteo forecast. For trips further out, it looks up the same dates last year in Open-Meteo’s historical archive and shows that as typical weather. If the weather can’t load, you still get a list based on your trip type.

How many pairs of underwear and socks should I pack?

TripPack packs one pair per day, plus one spare (nights + 1). If you have laundry where you’re staying, it caps clothes at a week’s worth, because you can wash and rewear.

What is the TSA 3-1-1 liquids rule?

For carry-on bags, TSA allows liquids, gels, creams, pastes and aerosols in travel-size containers of 3.4 ounces (100 milliliters) or less per item, all in one quart-size bag. Larger containers go in checked baggage. Medications and baby formula or breast milk are exempt in reasonable amounts.

Do I need a plug adapter?

It depends on the country. TripPack checks the plug type for about 50 popular destinations. Japan, Mexico and Canada use the same Type A/B plugs as the US; the UK uses Type G; most of Europe uses Type C/F or C/E.

Can I share my packing list?

Yes. Tap Share to copy a link. Anyone who opens it gets the same list for the same trip. Checkmarks stay on your own device.

Where are my checkmarks saved?

In your browser’s local storage, on your device only. TripPack has no accounts, so your lists aren’t uploaded anywhere.

What are TripPack Kits?

TripPack Kits are travel kits we plan to make: a compression cube set, a TSA-ready toiletry kit and an under-seat personal item bag. They aren’t for sale yet. Join the early-access list to hear when they launch.
